Welcome Cal-MOAA Members

Please take the time to register so that you can author a post, comment, and manage categories. Doing this allows your name to be associated with any interaction you may make while visiting the Cal-MOAA blog, making it easier to categorize author’s posts by name and topic in the future.
Once you have registered, I will upgrade your permission privileges so that you can access the admin section and look around at what is possible. Don’t hesitate to explore and try some of the features. Anything you may do while exploring can be changed if necessary. Once you have registered and have logged in, you will still be logged in when you return if you did not logout. You will still have to give the access password for the blog area once you close your browser window and then return at a later time and/or date.
Update: I have finished the Archives page. Members can now sort all posts by Title, Date, Category, and Author. Note: When sorting by a particulat Author you can also sort their posts by Title, Date, and Category. This is a great feature and will be used often as the blog grows in content. End Update
Update: Members can now sign up for email notification whenever a new post is posted to the blog. Just click on the Site Admin link. You will see a message about email notifications under Dashboard, just enter your email address and click sign up. You will still need to sign up for email notification for new comments on each posts that you are interested in following. End Update
I hope to implement the ability for members to signup for comment subscriptions in the near future. This will allow those who might want to know when a comment is posted to receive an email. (Members can now subscribe to email notification for comments on each post they are interesting in. This can only be done while making a comment.) I also will be adding the ability to make sticky-posts so that an important posts will stay on top, no matter how many others are posted after it. (The Sticky Post feature has been added) Members can sticky or un-sticky a post at anytime. There is the possibility for members to have an avatar or gravatar in blog language. For those who do not know what an avatar/gravatar is, it’s a small image, either of yourself or anything you want it to be that will accompany your comments to posted topics. You can see some of the globally recognized gravatars at http://www.gravatar.com/. If you are interesting in having something like this, please leave a comment. I can make gravatars of your images if there are enough who want them.
If there is anything you feel will make this blog a better experience, please leave a comment. If it’s possible and not beyond my limited skills, it will be done. I will be tweaking the layout as time permits but will post that I’m working on the layout when I do manage the time to do so. Please do not post anything when you see a message from me that I’m working on the blog. You could loose what you wrote while I’m updating the layout.
Last but not least, enjoy the exploration into a marvelous form of communication technology. There is a small learning curve but the rewards are well worth the effort. Fell free to email me if you have any problems. My email address is on the right, under Links as Administrator.

The scarcity of comments prompted me just to note that your email contact appears to the right on my screen vs “left” as you say in very last sentence.
Oh, My, I got so worked up that I forgot my left from my right! I fixed it, thanks.
We need National to fix their webpage problems and get the chapter website pages back up and runnig. It is going to be too expensive for many/some chapters to have one created and maintained. It is going to put a real crimp on our “One Powerful Voice” motto. Chapters need websites. This is going to be a great way to communicate in the future….Bud Lichtenstern/Miramar Chapter President
