Delinquent Dues

SOME CHAPTER PAYMENTS NOT YET RECEIVED
CAL-MOAA treasurer Col Ike Isensee, USMC-Ret, reports that there are still some chapters that have not yet made the 2006 dues payment.
Each chapter helps support the Council’s work by making an annual payment of $0.75 per active member. Chapter treasurers likely know the payment procedure and where to send the check. If there are payment or other related questions, please contact Colonel Isensee directly.
We have been working hard, using this weblog technology and otherwise, to demonstrate the Council’s value to chapters.
Sergeant Jones was assigned to the induction center, where he was to advise new recruits about their government benefits, especially their Serviceman’s Group Life Insurance (SGLI). It wasn’t long before Captain Smith noticed that Sgt. Jones had almost a 100% record for insurance sales, which had never happened before. Rather than ask about this, the captain stood in the back of the room and listened to Jones’ sales pitch.
Jones explained the basics of the GI insurance to the new recruits, and said, “If you have GI insurance and go into battle and are killed, the government has to pay $200,000.00 to your beneficiaries. If you don’t have GI insurance, and you go into battle and get killed, the government has to pay only a maximum of $6,000. “Now,” he concluded, “which bunch do you think they are going to send into battle first?”
As the famous radio commercial for home mortgages goes, “There is no selling here; either we can lower your costs or we can’t.”
CAL-MOAA provides a wide array of both direct and indirect support services to affiliated chapters. It would be appreciated if the 2006 dues payment is made promptly.
