Bob. As requested here are some comments re the Council/EXCOMM meetings held in Sacramento 26-27 Oct 2006.
Recap of meeting in Sacramento:
I believe progress was made by approving a Strategic Plan. THe Legislative issues were important to further develop a operational plan with action items with specific timelimes. This is the first step in moving forward with a measurable result of activity.
I also do not believe splitting the state up in to 2 Regions is beneficial to the overall mission of our organization. It would limit our ability to further influence state legislation in regard to our interests. We then become divided and ineffective and not “Speak with one Voice!” I also think too much time is spent on discussing the past. We need to move forward as an organization and not dwell on how it use to be! I did find bneficial the lively discussion of various issues. This is indicative of an organization that is alive with different opinons of how to move forward on various issues.
The diner and speaker on Friday night was excellent. My congratulaitons to the Sacramento Chapter for hosting. Well done.
Lastly, the internet and it’s use will continue to develop and grow as we enroll new members who are more comfortable with the internet and it’s various uses.
Overall, a great meeting.
