AFFILIATED CHAPTER DUES PAYABLE BY APRIL 1st
According to the bylaws, “each affiliated chapter shall be liable for its pro-rata share of financial support.”
Chapter presidents often need to remind treasurers to make payment by the due date, April 1st.
“The chapter dues to be paid each year shall be based on the number of regular members belonging to a chapter on the last day of the previous year.”
On that basis, chapters need to make payment of $0.75 per regular member as of December 31, 2006. The check should be made out to CAL-MOAA and sent to Col Arthur “Ike” Isensee, USMC-Ret, Council treasurer, 16769 Thomas White Drive, Riverside CA 92518-2925.
Financial assets will be used by the Council to serve the immediate and wider military communities. The Council’s financial plan/budget was presented at the 24 February Vandenberg AFB EXCOM meeting and all chapter presidents should have received a copy by this date.
Basically, expenditures will be made to fund the Council’s operating expenses, support legislative advocacy through the California State Commanders Veterans Council (CSCVC), provide special legislative support, create and maintain communications technology such as the website and weblog, assist the restart of an East Bay chapter, support the annual meeting, and provide funds to specific veterans homes to improve the quality of life of our veterans.
The Council does everything possible to spend monies effectively and efficiently.
With declining membership, funds available are shrinking; therefore, donations are more than welcome. Members who would like to make a donation will have an opportunity to designate the donation to the general fund or to a specific Council effort.
