VIRGINIA COUNCIL OF CHAPTERS (VCOC) LEADS NATION
The Virginia Council of Chapters led the nation in 2006 with 554 new members recruited under the Give Me 10! program.
Key to this success was a decision by the council leadership to support the Give Me 10! program.
The council president, Bill Flanagan took to heart MOAA president VADM Norb Ryan”s appeal to each council president to participate in Give Me 10! Next he asked the council membership chairman, Paul Mehler to provide information and support to the 15 VA chapters.
The council president spoke to all lhis chapter leaders urging them to opt in to Give Me 10! and do everything they could to support the program and set a goal for the council of winning MOAA’s offer of “a night out with MOAA.”
Winners of this incentive earn a dinner with MOAA leadership hosting council and chapter presidents and their wives at a place of their choosing. To win, council has to have 75% of chapters enrolled in Give Me 10! and chapters each recruit 10 new members.
The Virginia Council achieved this goal and earned a dinner with MOAA’s President at the historic Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, VA on January 22, 2007
