SEARCH UNDERWAY FOR NEW COUNCIL TREASURER

Immediate opening exists for an interested and qualified member to assume the duties of Council treasurer.

We are asking the presidents and chapter members to recommend known individuals who might appreciate an opportunity to serve at the state level. Perhaps a chapter treasurer or past treasurer would express an interest if asked.

It would be highly advantageous to have a treasurer who lives within the San Francisco or Monterey Bay areas, although that is not a requirement.

The job is not complex. It’s a matter of depositing and safeguarding income, mostly chapter dues and interest on investments, paying the Council’s bills in a timely manner, preparing certain uncomplicated end-of-period financial reports, and perhaps preparing, or causing to be prepared, certain tax returns as appropriate and if required.

Ideally the candidate would have accounting and/or financial education and/or training plus recent related experience.

This is a position that will give the new treasurer an opportunity to leverage his/her service to the military community, gain new perspectives on opportunities and challenges at the sate level, make new friends and acquaintances, gain personal satisfaction from doing a very important job effectively, and in short bring an important new dimension to his/her life.

Interested members are invited to contact the current treasurer Col Arthur “Ike” Isensee, USMC-Ret of Riverside, Southern California to ask about the nature of the position and its requirements. He can be reached by telephone at (951) 697-2609 and e-mail ikeisensee@earthlink.net.

To express an interest in the position contact LtCol Larry Stumpf, USAF-Ret, president at (951) 567-5368 e-mail ls10336325@aol.com or COL Warren Enos, AUS (RET), interim vice president at (408) 245-2217 or e-mail warren@cal-moaa.org.
