BLOG TECHNOLOGY DESIGNED FOR MOAA MEMBER USE
“A single conversation across the table with a wise man is better than ten years’ study of books.”
You can initiate a conversation with other MOAA members on this weblog. It’s an interactive technology to meet our interpersonal communication needs.
You’re invited to use it fully. And it’s easy to do.
(1) Go to the weblog page, obtain a password if you haven’t done so already, login, click on “write,” enter an appropriate title, create the message, and click on “publish.”
If you’d like to comment on what another has written, simply log in, click on “View site,” click on Comments at the bottom of the post, write your response, and click on “submit comment.”
If necessary, take advantage of the tutorials provided.
(2) If you’d like to write and post an item or comment, and yet you don’t want to do it yourself, simply send what you want posted to warren@cal-moaa.org and it will be placed on the weblog without delay.
You don’t even have to write anything. Simply send a story idea, a simple outline of what you want to say, and an item will be prepared and posted for you.
“One good thing about keeping quiet–it can’t be repeated.”
We’re doing every thing we can to share late news, information, opinion, viewpoints, and commentary. When the communications effort rests with only a couple people, there can be significant bias and distortion. Why not share what’s going on from your perspective; others will often be grateful that you did.
“Respect in dependent upon understanding; the latter grows out of communication.”
After e-mail the weblog is how the Council communicates statewide and beyond. Success will depend on our willingness to participate fully, to take a risk, post items and comments to the weblog, and just generally let others know what is going on around California.
The weblog is currently receiving more than 2,000 “hits” monthly; a lot of people are accessing it. Your weblog posts and comments will be most appreciated.
