A VIETNAM VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION IN WHITTIER

All veterans and their families are invited to come and celebrate this long overdue “Welcome Home” to be held Sunday, March 30, 2008, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, at the California High School Football Field, at 9800 Mills Avenue, Whittier, CA 90604.

Come and celebrate a living memorial with fellow Veterans. Admission is free, and the event will be filled with tributes, guest speakers, live music, and great food.

Veterans are encouraged to bring their families and picnic chairs to enjoy the festivities. WHVVD is an important and long overdue tribute to the men and women who served our nation in uniform in Vietnam.

The event will be held in conjunction with U.S. Congresswoman Linda Sanchez, Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, the City of Whittier, Whittier Union High School District, and several veterans organizations including Vietnam Veterans of America, American Legion Bikers Post 359, Amvets Post 113, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Post 51 and Post 477, Honor Guard, Combat Infantrymen’s Association, Military Vehicle Club, American GI Forum, and more.

Here’s the lineup: free admission, military vehicle show, custom car and motorcycle show, live music, retail and food vendors, military memorabilia, climbing wall, family fun, and entertainment for all.

Here are directions to the high school: From the 605 freeway exit Whittier Blvd, go east to Mills avenue, turn right. California High School will be on your left side at 9800 Mills Avenue.
