    VETERANS WHALEWATCHING OUT OF SAN PEDRO

    There is going to be a no cost South Bay (San Pedro) veterans whalewatching experience Sunday, March 30th, 2008, aboard the Monte Carlo, 22nd Street Landing, San Pedro to “honor the selfless commitment and sacrifices of our South Bay Veterans and their families.”

    Show time is 10:00am for a dock talk with departure at 10:30 and approximate return 1:00pm.

    To get to the dock, take 110 Harbor Freeway South until it ends at Gaffey Street. Turn left on Gaffey and take to 22nd Street. Turn left on 22nd and to 3/4 mile to the bottom of the hill. The landing is on the right; there is free parking to the left. You might want to check the website http://www.22ndstreet.com.

    This event is free to veterans and immediate family members courtesy of the National Defense Industrial Assocition, “building strength through industry and technology.” See http://www.ndia.org.

    It is always cooler on the ocean, so dress in layers. Don’t forget a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and motion medication. Bring binoculars and camera, too!

    Registration is required. Register by calling Tracy Learned at (310) 548-2711. The registration deadline is Thursdayl, March 20th. Limited seating available–first come, first served.
