    RIGHTS & OBLIGATIONS SEMINAR

    This full-day seminar will comprehensively address the legal rights and obligations of War Veterans as well as the legal obligations and rights of Employers, relative to the employment and re-employment of War Veterans returning from the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

    The Uniformed Service Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act (USERRA); the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); and other applicable Federal and California State laws will be comprehensively discussed. Participants at this seminar will receive an in-depth understanding of the concept of “reasonable accommodation”; recent lawsuit results in this area of employment law; as well as other critical new legal information and regulations pertaining to this topic.

    The seminar will provide participants with an opportunity to explore practical scenarios in order to gain a solid and more concrete understanding of the impact of these current and extremely important federal and state laws. This seminar will emphasize a balanced and specific “check-list” of the rights and obligations of veterans returning from the war; as well as the rights and obligations of employers, including new laws effective “2008″. At this seminar, the information covered will be from the perspectives of Employers; Business Owners; Veterans/Veteran Support
    Groups & Officials; HR Managers & Staffs.

    Participants will also receive an understanding of the practical implications of these laws and new policies as they relate to compensation; employee benefits; hiring practices; training and development opportunities; leaves of absence; and other aspects of employment laws and regulations. A workbook comprising the most up-to-date material pertaining to this important topic will be distributed to all participants.
