AMERICA¹S LEADING DISABLED VETERAN BUSINESS EXPO RETURNS

Presented by The California disabled veteran¹s business enterprise alliance (DVBE).

The 17th annual business symposium “Keeping the Promise 2008″ brings veteran and disabled veteran entrepreneurs face-to-face with corporate and government business leaders. In two days, hundreds of veteran-owned, and certified DVBE vendor companies will meet with procurement and supplier diversity professionals seeking contract opportunities for a wide range of goods and services.

Brought to you by major sponsors ATT, Lockheed Martin, Sprint and the CA Department of General Services, “Keeping the Promise 2008″ begins with corporate and government plenary sessions on Tuesday April 15, from 12:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Irvine Hyatt Regency. Over 100 KTP Expo exhibitors will be featured, with panel discussions providing answers to
many of the tough questions facing our disabled veteran and veteran business professionals.

Certified disabled veteran businesses are guaranteed by law contract participation goals with regulated utilities, State and Federal agencies and many private industry contracts for goods and services. In California, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger strengthened State government goals by signing SB 115 into law in 2006. Recent changes in Federal law have also given veterans much to cheer. The non-profit DVBE Alliance exists to help veterans become certified, create businesses and obtain their goals.Alliance President Robert Brown, says, “The creativity, skills and discipline veterans bring to the workplace are key to realizing their opportunity. Any business partnership benefits from having veterans on board. Recognition of their value has come to government and industry when they need reliable partners and this Keeping the Promise Expo has raised the bar for all each year.”

Tuesday evening IS OUR NIGHT FOR FUN BEGINNING WITH A TRIBUTE TO OVER 100 ACTIVE DUTY SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN, who have recently returned from duty overseas. Dinner and the KTP/DVBE Alliance Awards presentations follow a networking Happy Hour and Silent Auction, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday, April 16th begins with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and a Veteran’s Procurement briefing in advance of the day’s Business Matchmaking appointments for veteran and disabled veteran owned companies. Breakfast and lunch sponsors include Southwest Gas, Robert Half International, Northrup Grumman, Southern California Edison, Grainger, PG&E and McKesson.

Buyers from government agencies and major corporations will participate in an estimated 1,000 one-on-one sessions with veteran sellers beginning at 10 a.m. Between appointments, all participants will be able to visit sponsor and information booths at the Expo continuing in an adjacent area.
