OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN FORCES, MAKE A DIRECT CONTRIBUTION

A small group of us packed almost 800 chrome coffee travel mugs this morning to ship to our Troops. I’ve posted a new photo album for you on our weblink.

If you haven’t checked out our weblink lately, please take a minute to do so — we have been receiving dozens of “thank you” photos from our grateful Troops for all the cards, letters, gift bags, phone cards, etc. that we’ve been shipping, so you will see alot of new photos that will touch your heart!

I want to take a minute to say a special THANK YOU to everyone who supports our Troops program in so many ways:

First and foremost, many thanks to ALL the kind people who continue to write notes of encouragement to our Troops, bake the homemade cookies that our Troops love, help us with the monetary donations that make our work possible, and volunteer in so many ways.

Thank you to Karen Bertram, Janet Combs, Chris Gentry, Patti Harris, and Rita Shagan for your hard work today — we were done packing all those mugs in just over 1 hour!

Many thanks to Patti Patton-Bader, founder of Soldiers’ Angels, for kindly donating the coffee travel mugs we packed today.

Thanks to all who have donated to the orphans at Al-Menar Orphanage in Baghdad. So far, we’ve shipped over 10 huge boxes of small toys, clothing, shoes, undergarments, even baby formula, for these needy kids, and so many people have donated to help us with shipping costs.

Thank you to teacher Vicki Ferguson and her kids at Aloha Elementary School for raising funds to purchase clothing and toys for Al-Menar Orphanage. The kids also made cards for these orphans, which are posted on our weblink.

Thank you to John Luyben, President of Premiere Packaging Industries in Los Alamitos, for keeping us supplied with donated shipping boxes. John and his company have been a great friend to us and our Troops.

And last, but not least, thank you to the Los Alamitos Post Office for always making the extra effort to get our boxes on the way to our Heroes as quickly as possible!

It’s never too soon to start planning for our really BIG letter writing, baking, and phone card campaign for Memorial Day and July 4th!

All cards, letters and monetary donations will be needed by June 4 so we have time to purchase phone cards and prepare for our combined holiday shipment. Homemade cookies (please contact Susie Aultz 562/429-5360) will be needed by June 24.

Just remember, it’s never too late to Support Our Troops! If you need to make special arrangements, just let us know.

P.S. — Our Troops Booth will be at the Seal Beach Classic Car Show at the Seal Beach Pier on Saturday, April 26, from 10am - 3pm. Drop by for a visit! We’ll have clowns entertaining the kids, adults and kids can write a note to a Soldier, and we’ll have some great handouts (and candy, too!) for you.

EVERYONE IS A CRITICAL PART TO THE SUCCESS OF OUR MISSION TO PROVIDE THE SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT OUR TROOPS DESERVE — THEY KNOW THEY ARE LOVED BY OUR COMMUNITY!

Until they all come home, thank you for supporting our Heroes!
