CALIFORNIA DISABLED VETERAN’S BUSINESS ENTERPRISE ALLIANCE
The 17th annual business symposium “Keeping the Promise 2008″ brings veteran and disabled veteran entrepreneurs face-to-face with corporate and government business leaders. In two days, hundreds of veteran-owned, and certified DVBE vendor companies will meet with procurement and supplier diversity professionals seeking contract (OPPORTUNITIES) for (A WIDE RANGE OF) goods and services.
“Keeping the Promise 2008″ begins with corporate and government plenary sessions on Tuesday April 15, from 12:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Irvine Hyatt Regency. Over 100 Expo exhibitors will be featured the panel discussions provide answers to many of the tough questions facing our
disabled veteran and veteran business professionals.
Certified disabled veteran businesses are guaranteed by law contract participation goals with regulated utilities, State and Federal agencies and many private industry contracts for goods and services. In California, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger strengthened State government goals by signing SB 115 into law in 2006. T he non-profit DVBE Alliance exists to help veterans become certified, create businesses and obtain their goals. DVBE Alliance President, Robert Brown, says, “Traditionally, veteran and disabled veteran-owned firms are among those that deliver on time and on budget results. This conference will open a great many doors for a great many deserving veteran companies.”
Tuesday evening IS OUR NIGHT FOR FUN BEGINNING WITH A TRIBUTE TO over 100 active duty servicemen and women, who have recently returned from duty overseas. Dinner and the KTP/DVBE Awards presentations follow a networking Happy Hour and Silent Auction beginning at 5:30 p.m.
“Wednesday, April 16th begins with breakfast at 7:30 AM and a Veteran’s Procurement briefing in advance of the day’s Business Matchmaking appointments for veteran and disabled veteran owned companies.
Buyers from government agencies and major corporations will participate in an estimated 1,000 one on one sessions with veteran sellers beginning at 10AM. Between appointments, all participants will be able to visit sponsor and information booths at the Expo continuing in an adjacent area.”
