It is stated the Council’s legislative officer has guaranteed payment by using his own personal credit card. If I read that correctly our esteemed TROA/MOAA member Cdr Bill Manes, USN-Ret (Past Pres. Cal-TROA, Past National TROA Board Member, Past President of Military Retirees Benefit Foundation and former Chairman of the Board to select California Veterans Home locations has made his credit card account a guarantee towards this important May 2008 Veterans Recognition Luncheon. This is certainly an individual notable action but where is the leadership in the Council Member Organizations (outside of Cal-MOAA $1000.00 plus dues) to simply support financially the budget for the activities they vote on.
