AUXILIARIES ASK FOR MORE MILITARY OFFICER MAGAZINE COVERAGE
I would like to suggest you add an “In Memoriam” page for Auxiliary members, and perhaps the same for wives who predecease their husbands.
In California alone there are 9741 auxiliary members who belong to MOAA, according to your records. There are 1366 belonging to chapters, and 280 who belong to chapters but not to National.

Dear Mrs. Kalinyak:
Thanks for your note and suggestion. We’ll consider your comments for the “Your Views” department of Military Officer magazine.
Good idea!
We’re now working with MOAA’s Member Service Center, which receives death notifications and requests for listings in the “In Memoriam” section of the magazine. Before long, we will begin including notices of auxiliary member deaths. We’ll first have to work out notification procedures and tweak the magazine design.
Note that – as with member notices – that page is not comprehensive. It includes only those members whose families notify MOAA and specifically request a listing.
At this time, listing members’ spouses is probably a “too hard,” but we’ll keep the idea in mind. We have limited information on spouses in the association’s database, and we don’t normally receive notice of their deaths.
Best wishes, and thanks for your many years’ support of Military Officers Association of America.

Col. Lacy:
I was most happy to receive your prompt and positive reply to my suggestion for an Auxiliary “In Memoriam”.
I notified Warren Enos our President, and he has put it on our website.
When I received the May issue of MILITARY OFFICER and saw the MOAA SPOUSE cover, my reaction was “what a great idea”.
I keep pushing auxiliary wives and regular officers to avail themselves of the mail order pharmacy. Perhaps an article in a future issue explaining exactly how to go about setting up an account with Express Scripts would be of benefit.
I started ordering when it was Merck Medco. I keep my credit card on file, so paying is very simple.
Again, thank you.

Dear Mary.
My pleasure. Makes us wonder why we’d never done so before!
FYI, on the August 2008 issue of Military Officer magazine we’ll have a coverwrap similar to the spouse coverwrap, but this one will go out to auxiliary members.
I’ll check with our Benefits Information Department about your question on the mail order pharmacy. I know they’ve do items in the past about how to use this system. We also keep permanent information on the Web site at
http://www.moaa.org/serv/serv_health/serv_health_pharm/serv_health_pharm_tmop.htm. Unfortunately, the magazineis so limited in pages that we can’t continually repeat standing information.
MOAA also publishes a TRICARE Pharmacy Brochure that members may order or download: http://www.moaa.org/serv/serv_health/serv_health_pharm/serv_health_pharm_tmop.htm
Best wishes,
Warren
