Reservists and Guardsmen will be nominating their employers for various awards that support their citizen soldiers and these distinguished employers will be honored at this luncheon in San Diego on 11 September.
ESGR is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The ESGR mission is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the law and resolving conflicts through mediation. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain support from all public and private employers for the men and women
of the National Guard and Reserve. Attendees will also learn what their roles and responsibilities are as employers and as Guardmembers or Reservists under the Uniform Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA).
ESGR is a volunteer DoD organization that provides no cost education, consultation and mediation for employers and their employees who serve in the National Guard or Reserve. EGSR’s goal is to support America’s employers who share their employees with the nation to ensure our national security.
This hosted luncheon and awards program will allow business leaders and community organizations to learn about ESGR, USERRA and hear about how signing a “Statement of Support” can show a company’s appreciation and support for their citizen soldier employees.
