    Employer Partnership Agreements

PARTNERSHIPS SUPPORT CAREERS, ENHANCE LOCAL EMPLOYERS

Joint Forces Training Base, Los Alamitos, Calif. — The U.S. Army Reserve and the National Guard will sign Employer Partnership Agreements with dozens of California employers represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Joint Council 42 and the Helmets to Hardhats organization on Friday, December 11th to help facilitate access to employment opportunities for California Soldiers and Veterans. Employer Partnerships build on the talent, skills and real-world experience Citizen Soldiers bring to the civilian workforce; traits which in a challenging economy give a competitive edge to today’s employers. Employer Partnerships are a vision of Lt. Gen. Jack Stultz, Chief of the Army Reserve and Commanding General of the 205,000 Warrior Citizens who serve in America’s Army Reserve. Since its inception, more than 800 employers across the Nation (nearly 60 based in California) have signed Employer Partnerships with the Reserve Components of the U.S. Army. continue reading

    “Gave Me Goosebumps!”

A SWINGIN’ RED WHITE AND BLUE REVUE

This is an amazing opportunity to see the premier of this original show. I was privileged to see a rehearsal a couple weeks ago and it is fabulous - gave me Goosebumps. I will be working behind the scenes during the show and would love to have you come see it. Even if you are not U.S. Military Veterans or enlisted and can get in free, the show is totally worth the price of $15!

This is a great historical show as well and would be great for kids to see. Hope to see you there!

Veterans & those currently enlisted in the military - $$FREE$$ - admittance!

Come, let us honor you. A Swingin’ Red, White and Blue Revue is a patriotic tribute show set to the background of the World War II era. continue reading

    Area VIII Luncheon

THE MOAA AREA VIII JOINT LUNCHEON IS SET FOR SATURDAY, 9/26/09

Every year, we team up with the other five MOAA chapters in San Diego County and present a joint luncheon at the MCAS Miramar Officers Club.

These luncheons are always great events, with very interesting speakers. This year should be no exception, as the guest speaker is Jack Ensch, the Military Liaison Officer for the San Diego Padres. Jack spent time in the Hanoi Hilton as a POW and he’s a dynamic speaker.

The attached flyer has the details of the luncheon and a reservation form you can use to sign up for the luncheon.

    Heal Our Heroes Conference

CAMPUS CRUSADE MILITARY MINISTRIES SUPPORTS TROOPS

There will be a Heal our Heroes Conference that is being sponsored by Campus Crusade Military Ministries and will be held on September 11 and 12 in Costa Mesa. If I have sent this to you previously, then please let this serve as a reminder. All attendees are welcome, and no reservations are required. The Saturday conference is especially important, with its training and the resources that will be made available.

If you can come or send a representative, please try to do so. This conference is being sponsored for the benefit of our troops. Please do whatever you can to get the word out to whoever you can. With the current shortage of military Chaplains, especially in the National Guard, I believe that much of the responsibility for spiritual assistance to our returning veterans may fall upon our local churches. The outreach to our heroes is extremely important, and this conference can serve to give us a decent start. So, please do your best to get the word out.

For full information, contact Rev Sterry.
