How To Write and Post to the Blog



When you login to the admin section You will land on the Dashboard. This is what it will look like:



To write a post click on Write in the menu:



Below is where you will write and publish posts to the main blog page. Note that Write is highlighted in gray in the menu.



When you write a post it will be associated in the category you choose. Categories are listed on the right. Be sure to mark the category the post should be associated with. Creating new categories will be explained in another tutorial.



Next you will need to title your post by typing it into the Title field. This gives the system a permanent link associated with the post and archives that link Then you can type your post into the Post field. You can copy text from another source and past it into the post field but you will need to check for formatting problems. The best way to copy and past is to first copy and past your text into notepad, then check for formatting - make sure there are double spaces between paragraphs and check to be sure that there aren't inappropriate line breaks. Example:

This is an example of poorly
formatted line breaks. This line should be a part of the first line and not below it.

Then you can copy the text from notepad and past it into the Post field.



Now all you need to do is click on the Publish button.



That's it, that's all you need to do to post a main subject topic to the blog. You can also save a post as a Draft if you find that you didn't have time to finish it. You can always come back and complete it at a later time.
